How to Access “Hey Copilot” on Windows 10?

Hi everyone,

I’m trying to figure out how to enable and use the “Hey Copilot” voice activation feature on Windows 10. I’ve seen references to it in some articles and announcements, but I’m not sure if it’s available for Windows 10 users or only for Windows 11.

Here’s what I’d love help with:

  • Is “Hey Copilot” supported on Windows 10?
  • If yes, what are the steps to activate it?
  • Do I need to install any updates or apps to make it work?
  • Is there a specific hardware requirement (like a microphone or TPM)?
  • If it’s not available yet, is there a timeline or workaround?

Any guidance or links to official documentation would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance 🙏

    Hi Andi Arfan Zulsamadi,

Thanks posting in microsoft community, voice activation can really streamline your workflow, so I understand the interest. First, “Hey Copilot” is currently rolling out to Windows 11 users via the Microsoft Store, specifically for those in the Windows Insider Program. It’s not officially available on Windows 10 yet. Second, while the wake-word feature isn’t supported, you can enable Copilot itself on Windows 10 by installing Build 19045.3754 (KB5032278) or newer, and enabling experimental flags. Third, to use Copilot Voice (once available), you’ll need a working microphone, but TPM isn’t required for basic functionality. Microsoft hasn’t announced a timeline for “Hey Copilot” on Windows 10, but they’ve confirmed plans to expand Copilot features to more users based on feedback. If this helps, please mark the answer as accepted so others can find it too.

    Best,
    Carl
