How do I set my battery to stop charging at 80% xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Windows does not have a setting to limit the upper charge level on the battery in a laptop, that function is provided by a utility installed by the laptop manufacturer.
Open the Lenovo Vantage app, in there go to the Device - Power section and it is there you may find the option to limit the upper charge limit on your battery.

lenovo vantage does not have that setting when I download, same in both regular and commercial.
also tried in bios F1 looking for loading limit as suggested by some but can’t find it there either.

In the Lenovo app under Device Settings (you will need to scroll down) it should be there. Shown as the Conservation mode.
Thank you for your reply! Good to see I haven’t looked in the wrong place but for me that option about charging doesnt show up.
It might be something with me having too old laptop (T480) or too old windows (10) or something in that area of limits in hardware, software etc
You may be right. I bought my Lenovo IDEAPAD Pro with Windows 11.
Have you checked to see if there is an update to the bios. It is a Lenovo setting and not windows.

When I installed an internal battery (found out along the way that I lacked one and only ran on secondary battery) the option of stop loading at a certain percentage in lenovos vantage up suddenly popped up!
