How do I change the internet connection to log into xbox live on PC, Windows 11

PC was previously connected to internet via ethernet cable to router. I changed out the router and the PC now has internet connection via Wi-Fi. When I attempt to log in to Xbox live, I receive an error message that my computer is not connected to the internet. I'm having no issues with Outlook, OneDrive, and Microsoft Edge, so the PC is connected to the internet. Where can I confirm that Xbox live is pointing to the correct internet connection?

Hi,

If Xbox Networking isn’t showing up in Settings > Gaming and Microsoft has already confirmed this is a bug in the latest Windows 11 update, it’s probably not your Wi-Fi at all, just unfortunate timing that the new connection and the update happened around the same time. Your PC’s internet is clearly fine since Outlook, OneDrive, and Edge are working, but the Xbox services aren’t recognizing it because of the Windows bug. For now, the usual fixes like flushing DNS, resetting Xbox services, or switching adapters likely won’t help until Microsoft releases a patch. Some people have had temporary success by keeping Windows fully updated, signing out and back into the Xbox or Microsoft Store apps, or briefly testing with a wired ethernet connection.

Kind regards,

    Hi,

Since your PC connects to the internet fine but Xbox Live says it’s offline, it’s likely still trying to use old network info from when you were on ethernet. To fix this, open Settings > Gaming > Xbox Networking and check if it shows a connection issue, if it does, click "Fix it" or "Check again." Next, restart the Xbox services by pressing Windows + R, typing services.msc, and restarting Xbox Live Auth Manager, Xbox Live Networking Service, and IP Helper. If that doesn’t help, open Command Prompt (Admin) and run ipconfig /flushdns, netsh winsock reset, and netsh int ip reset, then restart your PC to clear old network routes. Finally, sign out and back into the Xbox app to refresh your connection using Wi-Fi. Can you check whether the Xbox Networking page says "Teredo is unable to qualify" or "Blocked"? That helps tell if it’s a deeper network protocol issue.

    Kind regards,
