Hello Starlight Academy,
Thank you for posting question on Microsoft Windows Forum.
The status of "Spooling" might indicate that your computer is trying to send the print job to the printer, but it is gotten "stuck" in the digital queue. It might relate to the issue of Print Spooler Service.
You can try the following solutions to see whether it could resolve the issue.
1.Manually Clear the Print Queue.
- Open the Services App:
- On command prompt, type services.msc and it will open the "Services" app that appears.
- Stop the Print Spooler:
- In the list of services (it's alphabetical), find Print Spooler.
-
- Right-click on Print Spooler and select Stop.
- Leave the Services window open; you will need it again.
- Delete the Stuck Print Jobs:
- Open File Explorer (the folder icon on your taskbar).
- In the address bar at the top, copy and paste the following exact path, then press Enter: C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
- You may get a pop-up asking for permission. Click Continue.
- Delete everything inside this folder. This will cancel all pending print jobs for all printers.
- Restart the Print Spooler:
- Go back to the Services window you left open.
- Right-click on Print Spooler and select Start.
- Try Printing Again:
- Go back to your document and try to print it.
2.Use the Windows Printer Troubleshooter.
- Click the Start button > Settings
- Go to Update & Security (or System in Windows 11).
- Click on Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters (or Additional troubleshooters).
- Find Printer in the list and click Run (or Run the troubleshooter).
-
- Follow the on-screen prompts. The troubleshooter will attempt to restart the spooler and clear any errors it finds.
