Today I changed from Microsoft 365 personal to family. I did this on my ThinkPad. My new family account doesn't show my iphone or ipad as devices attached to the account. How do I include these devices in my account?

Hi, I'm John! I will help you with this.

Your iPhone and iPad don’t need to be listed as devices to use your Microsoft 365 Family subscription. You just need to use the Microsoft account associated with that plan to sign in on your iOS devices, which will then link them to your new subscription.

Here’s what you can do:

  • On your iPhone or iPad, open the App Store and install the apps you use (like Word, Excel, or Outlook).
  • Open one of the apps, then tap Sign in.
  • Sign in using the same Microsoft account you used to upgrade to the Family plan.
  • Once signed in, your subscription benefits will automatically apply to your apps.

If you’re also trying to share the Family plan with others, you can do that from your ThinkPad by going to https://account.microsoft.com/services then select Sharing under Microsoft 365 Family.

Let me know how it goes or if you have any further questions or concerns.
