Keyboard freezing in Win 11 24H2 / 25H2 after installing KB5066835 on our two laptops, Acer Swift and Lenovo Yoga. Installation was Oct 16 for both laptops. The Acer Swift is on 25H2, no differance.

Keyboard works only with Restart PC option, not with 'normal' fast start.

Uninstalling KB5066835 doesn't work, since Windows reinstalls KB5066835 in the following hours.

    Hi,

Where you able to try and disabling fast startup by going to Control Panel > Power Options > Choose what the power buttons do > Change settings that are currently unavailable, and uncheck "Turn on fast startup." Update your laptop’s BIOS/firmware and make sure the keyboard driver is current. If possible, uninstall and reinstall the keyboard driver to ensure proper initialization during boot.

    Kind regards,

    Hi,

If your keyboard freezes on Windows 11 (24H2/25H2) after installing KB5066835, the simplest solution is to install Microsoft’s emergency update KB5070773, which fixes USB input issues in recovery mode. Check for it in Settings under Windows Update, install it, and then restart your PC. To uninstall KB5066835, go to Settings, Windows Update, Update history, and then Uninstall updates, but note that Windows may reinstall it automatically. A more controlled approach is to manually download updates from the Windows Update Catalog to prevent automatic reinstallation. Also, ensure your keyboard drivers are up to date and test with another keyboard if possible, since some freezing issues can be hardware-specific.

    Kind regards,
