I put in a support ticket yesterday. No response yet but just 10 mins ago i checked https://onedrive.live.com/ and no more of those error everyone was seeing and files are back. So i rebooted my computer again and it logged in to app and is syncing again. Not sure if they fixed it for me or everyone.

I got the same behavior since 10/22, opened a ticket and no response yet. Microsoft should wake up and investigate this outage, it's very destructive!

    Hi,

I've got the same thing since early this morning!

OneDrive access to my files is broken on all platforms I could test.

    • PC Win11 24h2- with latest CU
    • Android
    • iOS
    • Browser Edge, Chrome
    • Also tested with VPN to another country.
    • Also tested on remote computers I got access in various locations, other than where I live.

Via a browser, I see files in Home, but none actually work, all giving error 500.

Via browser again, the My Files section is 100% empty, showing the something went wrong error no mater VPN, location, InPrivate,Chrome/Edge.

Via the PC app, after attempting to sign-out, I can't sign-in anymore.

Via Android, I see all my placeholders, but barely a handful of images or files are displaying the Thumbnail. None works at all.

I've looked at my sign-ins, nothing suspicious aside that there are only 2 in a month(!?)

As pointed out by Alex, super concerning issue!

    Thanks,

    Jonathan

    Hello Marcelo,

Thank you for your quick reply.

In the iphone app I have a similar behavior. I can see a partial list of folders or files when I search for them, but when I try to open them I get an error "The File can't be displayed. Sorry there was a problem opening the viewer."

I tried clearing the cache and cookies in my PC, tried a different browser and incognito, but the same behaviour happens.

Some of the files are still in my hard drive but they are all set to read only.

It looks like the files are no longer there, although they are taking 700GB of space in my account.

Any other ideas? This is super concerning for me. A lot of important files there.

    Thank you!

    Alex

    Hello Alex,

Thank you for reaching out about the issues you're experiencing with OneDrive. We understand how frustrating it can be when access to important files is disrupted especially when dealing with photos and personal documents.

Losing access to valuable files particularly memories like photos can be stressful we’re here to help resolve this as quickly as possible.

This issue is typically caused by temporary synchronization problems, service-side delays or corrupted cached data. Here’s what we recommend For the web error (500 Internal Server Error) first try clearing your browser cache and cookies or accessing OneDrive in a private/incognito window. If that doesn’t help wait a short while this error often resolves itself if the issue is on Microsoft’s servers. For the OneDrive client Run the standalone OneDrive reset tool or manually reset the app by exiting OneDrive in the system tray then restarting it via the Start menu. If files still don’t sync check the sync status by right-clicking the OneDrive icon and selecting View sync problems for details.

Are you able to access any files via the OneDrive mobile app, or do the errors persist across all devices?

I hope this answer is helpful if you have further questions feel free to reply back

    Regards,

    Marcelo
