Scanning Drive C: for errors …
but the Windows 11 swirling boot circle continues to rotate above and the system never proceeds to the 5 stages or event the 1 stage of scanning the drive
Instead the screen blanks for longer than usual but it’s not a reboot or loss of video, then The Windows Lock Screen appears as if you just booted Windows 11 normally.
The repro rate on several different PC’s (different OEMS) and Laptops is 100 percent.
The only workaround is to sign in, hold Shift while clicking on Reboot (Start Power Shift Reboot).
get the Please Wait…
Recovery Environment loads, Troubleshooting Advanced Command prompt Logging in if required change to the appropriate drive letter containing the Windows folder and running Chkdsk “current drive letter”: /F /B /R
Return/ Enter
and it will then scan the normal c: drive and progress through all 5 Stages which can fix and prevent so many problems that I regularly (every few days or after a cumulative update is installed) run this scan of the file system even if I don’t notice any problems right away.
just like running SFC /Scannow (after each sub build number changes every time {like on cumulative updates}) can resolve and prevent a lot of problems
and of course always remembering the number one rule “Backup, Backup, Off-Site Backup) :) :)
I submitted a Bug report through Feedback hub but as this is still occurring in Canary builds (checked that too) I felt compelled to post this here.

My experience level:
I may not post much but I’ve been Beta Testing before the Insider Program since 1996. (Hated Windows 95 bad enough to install Windows 3.1, get the dial-up Internet and Internet Explorer working on it just so I could sign up to become a Microsoft Beta Tester) I did test the 3.1 to 98 upgrade also first very thoroughly. Also found an issue where CDROM drives would just disappear from Explorer randomly even frequently while installing Windows 98 from the CD! What fun helping test patches to see if that issue was resolved. Yep, I’m that old.
Does anyone have any comments or recommendations on this issue other than just deal with it or some response like negligible customer impact?
