minecraft on bedrock edition suddenly lagging all of a sudden
Hello, i have played minecraft for many years on xbox and pc, a little ago i have been back into the game. but while in a realm with my friends i was disconnected and when i loaded the game back in it was unplayable, i mean 1 frame per minute it was horrible, so i ended upm logging off for the night after attempting uninstalling the game restarting and re-downloading it and nothing was working. so after playing different games and all worked fine, one week later i logged back into minecraft, and it was fixed i had no problem, played for a couple of hours and then took a break(about 30 min) came back to the most unplayable game. and it only is on minecraft. please help.

2025-10-31T02:53:46.4366667+00:00 The same thing happened to my game. it's fine for 5 minutes and then lags really bad. This occurred after yesterday's update. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and it's still happening. Realm or personal world.

2025-10-31T05:13:04.7066667+00:00 I am having the same exact issue. I try to play NOW after an update that happened yesterday and now Minecraft Bedrock Edition is sucking all of my memory/ram away causing my PC to lag. Note: I have 16GB ram, a I7 14th Gen and a NVIDIA 4060 so i shouldnt have any issues whatsoever.

2025-10-31T05:52:07.2566667+00:00 I too am facing the same issue. My realm was not working for me and a few friends, but we updated our games finally. Once we were able to get into the server, my game lags BIG time. I shouldn't be having issues; I wasn't literally the day before.

2025-10-31T18:42:25.91+00:00 Same issue here. My son went playing today for 10 minutes without facing issues. Suddenly the game got closed and pushed an update that makes the game practically unplayable. Only lagging also at the menu. (no issues with other games)

2025-10-31T21:22:26.6266667+00:00 Same here, decent Pc, old realm but not too big, suddenly becomes unplayable. Unfortunate because recently we can't go a couple weeks without having minecraft go down or some major issue appear

2025-11-01T18:28:56.94+00:00 Same here… the perceived lag seems to be caused by abnormal RAM usage while running Minecraft. Within just a few minutes of gameplay, all 32 gigs of my RAM were completely used up by MC. Can anyone else confirm this behavior?

2025-11-01T21:03:49.0733333+00:00 I've got likely the same problem. Minecraft is taking 27gb of my 32gb of ram.

2025-11-01T21:08:24.9533333+00:00 I am also facing this issue. The game has been perfectly fine on my 32gb ram pc with high frames at 150fps+ for months. However, whatever update the game or launcher has been through. I have been getting frames like at 10 or less. Also, my ram usage was minimal like less than 16gb before. Now, it is using 30gbs+ of my ram and has been the problem of my gameplay. All my other games have worked perfectly fine, ran diagnostics over and over, nothing is wrong with my PC. They need to fix this issue as soon as possible. Nothing in game fixes it either, render distance, shaders, quality on fancy settings, simple settings. nothing.

2025-11-01T21:39:02.4366667+00:00 When did this start for everyone? I only play with my son once every blue moon so I don't know when it started. I did jsut get a major update for Win11 Insider's today -- I was going to blame that.

2025-11-02T09:32:08.6333333+00:00 I'm also in the Insider program. Need to check another device to confirm. The issue by the way only affect Minecraft no other games.

2025-11-02T10:26:58.1833333+00:00 Tested other PCs running stock Windows 11 24H2 and I can confirm RAM usage on that system is normal. Only my Windows Insider machine is affected, and only in Minecraft.
After entering the world RAM usage rise to full 100% and stays there until the application is closed. No other game (Sniper Elite 5, DCS, Falcon BMS) or work App (Photoshop) does that.
I'm opening a bug on the MC Feedback website. -

2025-11-02T21:29:19.84+00:00 We have the same issue. Two fixes/workarounds so far. One - which i tried and works - is to switch to DX12 (by using RTX mode). The other is to turn off "reduce input lag" (I've not tested this yet. RTX does fix it if that's an option for you.

2025-11-02T22:05:24.29+00:00 Hey Mark. any help is indeed appreciated! unlucky me, I don't have any RTX capable card on any of my systems, so... can't confirm that.
I've tried disabling "reduce input lag" as suggested, and the game now feels less laggy and frames are slightly better (but far from normal). For me is still unplayable.
more important, the RAM issue is still there... 32gigs eaten by MC in seconds after logging into the world (both new and pre-existing).
But I'm thinking ... if going RTX solves, maybe it's a DirectX related thing...

2025-11-02T22:37:12.48+00:00 Hi everyone! Quick update: the 100% RAM usage issue has been resolved by turning off the "Improved Input Response" option and rebooting the game. The bug I reported to Mojang today has been redirected here:
https://report.bugs.mojang.com/servicedesk/customer/portal/6/MCPE-179496
Can you confirm if this solution works for you as well?

2025-11-09T01:26:09.14+00:00 Same issue, turned off Improved Input Response as per Simone and though I had a few issues getting the game back up again this fixed the issue. Thank you so much!
