My sound works when i restart, until I open a browser - Edge, Chrome, or Comet, then there is no sound until I go to Device Manager and uninstall the sound drivers. Then I restart and it works for until I open a browser. This is a repeating pattern. I am sure it is a setting, but I don't know which one.

It sounds like you are experiencing a recurring issue with your sound drivers when using browsers on Windows 11. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

    1. Update Your Audio Drivers: Ensure that you have the latest audio drivers installed. You can do this by going to Windows Update and checking for updates, or by visiting the manufacturer's website for your audio device.
    2. Check for Conflicts: Since the sound works after a restart but stops when you open a browser, there may be a conflict with the browser's audio settings or extensions. Try disabling any audio-related extensions in your browsers or resetting the browser settings to default.
    3. Use Device Manager: If you have to uninstall the sound drivers frequently, consider using Device Manager to update the drivers instead of uninstalling them. To do this:
      • Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
      • Expand the Sound, video and game controllers section.
      • Right-click on your audio device and select Update driver.
      • Choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
    4. Check Sound Settings: Go to Settings > System > Sound and ensure that the correct output device is selected. You can also check the advanced sound options to see if the browser is muted or set to a low volume.
    5. Run the Audio Troubleshooter: Windows has a built-in troubleshooter that can help diagnose and fix sound issues. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters, and run the Playing Audio troubleshooter.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to reach out to your device manufacturer for further assistance, especially if it relates to specific hardware compatibility issues.
