A few days ago I noticed that my Junk box was empty, and it"s been empty ever since. This has never happened before, and I cannot now see if emails that I want to receive have gone to Junk

    Hi Barbara,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concern about your Junk Email folder being empty for the past few days. I understand how unsettling it can be especially when you're used to checking that folder for any important messages that might have been filtered incorrectly.

It’s possible that recent updates to Outlook or changes in your junk email settings are affecting how messages are being filtered. Sometimes stricter junk email settings, updated rules or even third-party antivirus or firewall software can prevent junk emails from reaching your Junk folder altogether.

To help resolve this I recommend checking your junk email settings in Outlook. You can do this by going to the Home tab, selecting Junk then choosing Junk E-mail Options. From there review the filtering level if it's set to "Safe Lists Only" or "High," it might be filtering out too much. Also check your Rules & Alerts under the File menu to ensure no rules are automatically deleting or moving emails. Lastly if you use antivirus or firewall software, it’s worth checking if it’s interfering with your email delivery.

Could you let me know what version of Outlook you're using and whether you're accessing your email through the desktop app, web browser or mobile device?

I hope this answer is helpful if you have further questions feel free to reply back

    Regards,

    Marcelo

    Hello Barbara,

You're very welcome, to find out which version of Outlook you're using on your desktop open the Outlook app and click on File in the top left corner. Then select Office Account or Account depending on your setup. On the right-hand side you’ll see the version information under About Outlook. It will show something like “Microsoft Outlook for Microsoft 365” or “Outlook 2019,” along with the build number.

If you're using Outlook on your mobile device the version details can be found by opening the app, tapping on your profile icon or the settings gear (usually in the top corner) scrolling down to About, and checking the version number listed there.

    Regards,

    Marcelo
