Oops something went wrong

I recently built a new PC. All components are new apart from my hard drives, which I carried over from my old PC on which I had not issues with my microsoft account.

I encountered an error where the Microsoft Store and Xbox apps wouldn't let me sign-in. In an attempt to fix this I signed out of my microsoft account into a local account.

Now whenever I attempt to sign back into my microsoft account on this PC I get the "Oops, something went wrong. Whatever happened, it was probably our fault. Please try again" error.

I've reinstalled Windows twice. I've followed the suggested solutions on these forum posts:

I am still encountering this issue after several days. Please help me.

    Hi,

The PIN request wasn't processed correctly; it must have glitched. You need to do the following: remove your Microsoft account from both accounts, especially the email tab.

Check the work and school accounts tab and change the main account to a local account.

    Let me know.

Then, access the control panel > accounts > credential manager and delete all accounts.

    Thanks

    Hi,

Go to the Microsoft Store > Library tab > click "Get updates" and wait for the process to finish.

Then go to the Start menu > Settings > Accounts > Email & accounts and check if you have any Microsoft accounts.

Go back to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced network settings > Network reset > Restart the computer.

Open the command prompt (admin) and run the commands: sfc /scannow and dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth, wait for the process to finish and restart the computer.

Now open the Xbox app and try to log in with your Microsoft account. If it fails, try another Microsoft account, preferably a new one, and see if it works or fails.

Give feedback if the information was useful or not.

    Thanks
