To retrieve your Windows Digital License for reinstalling Windows on a new computer, you typically need to ensure that your license is linked to your Microsoft account. Here are the steps you can follow:

    1. Check Your Microsoft Account: If your Windows license is linked to your Microsoft account, you can access it by signing in to your account on the Microsoft website. This will allow you to see your digital licenses associated with that account.
    2. Use the Activation Troubleshooter: If you're reinstalling Windows on the same device, you can use the Activation Troubleshooter. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Activation, and if your Windows isn't activated, you can run the troubleshooter to help activate it using your digital license.
    3. Product Key: If you have a product key associated with your Windows license, you can use that during the installation process. You can find your product key in your original purchase confirmation email or on the device if it came pre-installed with Windows.
    4. Contact Support: If you are unable to retrieve your digital license, consider contacting Microsoft Support for assistance. They can help you verify your license and guide you through the reinstallation process.

Make sure to back up any important data before proceeding with the reinstallation.

Where did you get your Windows licence was that pre-installed on the old PC or did you purchase a full retail Windows licence from Microsoft or from a 3rd party retailer, and if so, do you have the product key?

Or is your Windows licence based on a previous Windows 7 or 8 licence?

On the olld PC, click your Start Button, type cmd then right click Command Prompt and choose 'Run as Administrator'

Run or paste this command and hit Enter:

    slmgr.vbs /dlv

Please post a screenshot of the resulting dialog

On the old PC, download the free ShowKeyPlus app from the Microsoft Store.

On the that app, click 'Check Edition', then enter your product key into that app.

Please provide a screenshot of that app window and please hide your product key in the screenshot.
