Hi umair momin,
Thanks for reaching out. It sounds like your system is having trouble detecting your audio device, which can happen due to a corrupted driver, failed update, or a system service issue.
First, try running the Audio Troubleshooter. Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters, then run the Playing Audio troubleshooter to detect and fix common issues.
Second, open Device Manager, expand Sound, video and game controllers, and check if your audio device is listed. If it’s missing or shows an error:
Right-click and choose Uninstall device
Then click Action > Scan for hardware changes to reinstall it
Third, if the driver still doesn’t install, download the latest audio driver directly from your laptop manufacturer’s support website and install it manually.
Fourth, since your Windows update is failing at 99%, try running the Windows Update Troubleshooter under Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters > Windows Update. This can help resolve update-related issues.
Lastly, regarding the alert that keeps popping up on startup, it might be related to a missing or corrupted audio service. Press Win + R, type services.msc, and make sure Windows Audio is running. If it’s stopped, right-click and select Start.
If this helps, please mark the answer as accepted so others can find it too.
Best,
Carl
