    Hi umair momin,

Thanks for reaching out. It sounds like your system is having trouble detecting your audio device, which can happen due to a corrupted driver, failed update, or a system service issue.

First, try running the Audio Troubleshooter. Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters, then run the Playing Audio troubleshooter to detect and fix common issues.

Second, open Device Manager, expand Sound, video and game controllers, and check if your audio device is listed. If it’s missing or shows an error:

    Right-click and choose Uninstall device

Then click Action > Scan for hardware changes to reinstall it

Third, if the driver still doesn’t install, download the latest audio driver directly from your laptop manufacturer’s support website and install it manually.

Fourth, since your Windows update is failing at 99%, try running the Windows Update Troubleshooter under Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters > Windows Update. This can help resolve update-related issues.

Lastly, regarding the alert that keeps popping up on startup, it might be related to a missing or corrupted audio service. Press Win + R, type services.msc, and make sure Windows Audio is running. If it’s stopped, right-click and select Start.

If this helps, please mark the answer as accepted so others can find it too.

    Best,
    Carl

To address the issue of your laptop audio output/speakers showing "NO AUDIO DEVICE INSTALLED," you can try the following steps:

    1. Check Audio Services: Ensure that the Windows Audio and Windows Audio Endpoint Builder services are running. You can do this by typing services.msc in the Run dialog (Win + R) and checking the status of these services.
    2. Uninstall and Reinstall the Audio Driver:
      • Open Device Manager.
      • Locate your audio device under "Sound, video and game controllers."
      • Right-click on the device and select Uninstall device. Make sure not to select the option to delete the driver software.
      • Restart your laptop. Windows should automatically reinstall the audio driver.
    3. Install Device-Specific Driver: If you have a specific driver for your audio device, install it before connecting the device. This can prevent issues that arise when the device-specific driver replaces the default driver after the device is connected.
    4. Use a Different USB Port: If your audio device is USB-connected, try plugging it into a different USB port to see if that resolves the issue.
    5. Update Windows: Ensure your Windows is fully updated. If an update fails, you can try downloading the update manually from the Microsoft website or using the Windows Update Troubleshooter.
    6. Check for Hardware Issues: If none of the above steps work, there may be a hardware issue with your audio device or laptop. Testing the device on another computer can help determine if the device is faulty.

If you continue to experience issues, consider reaching out to Microsoft support for further assistance.
