Purchasing Minecraft Realms

I am the adult of a family account, but when I'm in minecraft bedrock on my account I'm getting the message to ask an adult.

I've gone to the family account and explored all areas to see where the settings are to allow with no luck. I can see for my children that I could give them money, but there is no option for myself.

I have then gone and purchased the Realms plus as a subscription which appears to have gone through, but when I go into the game it is still offering the free subscription and then when I try and subscribe it says I need an adult.

    Thanks.

I have instead tried on Minecraft for iOS and had some success, but still have a few issues.

    1. On my sons account me I could purchase despite having the family app not allowing. This means the only layer of authentication on my phone is the one Apple provides not the one Microsoft provides
    2. my sons accounts both offer 30day free trial but my account has no such offer. I wanted to be the primary realm holder and invite my sons to the realm (see screenshots)
    3. I do now (without any settings changes on my iOS phone) have the ability to purchase with my account without the 30-day trial offer, but the realms plus I’ve already purchased is t being recognised. I therefore have cancelled that one but have been struggling to get a refund. This is what I see when I try to go through the tool to claim refund.

    Hi JuBuh,

Thank you for posting, I am here to help. The "need an adult" message in Minecraft Bedrock is caused by your Microsoft account having parental controls or being designated as a child account. This can happen even if you are an adult, particularly if the account was created long ago or incorrectly.

To fix this follow this steps:

Check the date and time settings of your Windows 11.

    Reinstall Minecraft Launcher:

Click Start button click on Settings and go to the Apps tab. Click on Apps & Features option. Next, find the Minecraft Launcher app and then select it. After that, click on the Uninstall option and confirm the removal of the application.

When the uninstall is complete, go to Microsoft Store and reinstall Minecraft Launcher on your PC.

Let me know how this goes. Looking forward to helping you out.  If you need more help please feel free to let me know. If the answer is helpful, please click "Accept Answer".

    Best regards,

    Jansher

It sounds like you're encountering issues with purchasing Minecraft Realms due to the family account settings. Here are a few steps you can take to resolve this:

    1. Check Family Settings: Make sure that your account is set as an adult in the family settings. Sometimes, even if you are the adult, the settings may not reflect that. You can check this in the Microsoft Family Safety app or the family settings on the Microsoft website.
    2. Permissions for Purchases: Ensure that your account has the necessary permissions to make purchases. In the family settings, there should be options related to purchases and spending limits. Adjust these settings if necessary.
    3. Subscription Confirmation: Since you've mentioned that you've purchased the Realms Plus subscription, ensure that the purchase was successful. You can check your order history in your Microsoft account to confirm this.
    4. Log Out and Back In: Sometimes, logging out of your account in Minecraft and then logging back in can refresh your account settings and resolve any issues.
    5. Contact Support: If the problem persists, consider reaching out to Microsoft Support for assistance. They can provide specific guidance based on your account settings and help troubleshoot the issue further.

By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the issue and gain access to Minecraft Realms.
