If the "allow a device to connect" option is greyed out, it may be due to a few reasons. Here are some steps you can try to fix the Bluetooth connection issue:

    1. Check Bluetooth Settings: Go to Settings > Devices and ensure that Bluetooth is turned on. If it is on, try toggling it off and then back on.
    2. Ensure Device Compatibility: Make sure that the Bluetooth device you are trying to connect is compatible with your system. Some devices may not be supported.
    3. Restart Your Device: Sometimes, simply restarting your device can resolve connectivity issues.
    4. Update Bluetooth Drivers: Ensure that your Bluetooth drivers are up to date. You can check for updates in the Device Manager.
    5. Check Group Policy Settings: If you are using a managed device, group policy settings may restrict Bluetooth access. You may need to contact your IT administrator to check these settings.
    6. Check for Hardware Issues: If the Bluetooth hardware is malfunctioning, it may prevent connections. You can check for any visible issues in Device Manager.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may need to refer to additional troubleshooting resources specific to your version of Windows.

    Hi,

In addition to the answer above, you can also try the following steps:

    Run the Bluetooth Troubleshooter

Select the Start Menu > Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters, and then from the list select Bluetooth > Run the troubleshooter.

Rollback and Update the Bluetooth Driver:

Press the Windows key + X, and choose Device Manager.

    Expand the Bluetooth section

Right-click on your Bluetooth adapter, then select 'properties'

Click the driver tab then hit 'Roll back driver'.

If it's greyed out, Go back to the Bluetooth adapter

Right-click on it then choose Update driver

Choose "Browse my computer for driver software"

Click "Let me pick from a list of available drivers on my computer."

Select an older driver from the list and click 'Next.'

    Follow the onscreen instructions.

    Restart your computer.

    Uninstall then re-install Bluetooth driver:

Press the Windows key + X and select Device Manager.

    Expand the Bluetooth section

Right-click on your Bluetooth adapter, then click Uninstall Device.

Ensure the "Delete driver software for this device" is checked

    Restart your computer.

Test the Bluetooth if working or not.

If nothing is working, you can download and install the Bluetooth driver from your PC manufacturer’s website, then restart your computer.

If you need help finding it, what is the make and model of your device?

In the search bar, type MSINFO32 and press Enter.

Please share a screenshot of that window.
