    Hi,

The only version of Microsoft Word you can use for free is the web-based one. If your connection keeps dropping and you can’t rely on it, the better route is to use other free word-processing apps instead, such as these two:

To use Microsoft Word offline, you will need the desktop version of the application. Unfortunately, there is no completely free version of Microsoft Word available. However, you can consider the following options:

    1. Microsoft 365 Trial: Microsoft offers a free trial of Microsoft 365, which includes Word. You can sign up for this trial and use it for a limited time without any cost. This will allow you to download and install the desktop version of Word.
    2. Office Mobile Apps: If you have a Windows Phone or a compatible device, you can use the Office Mobile apps, which are free to download and allow basic editing capabilities. However, they may not provide the full functionality of the desktop version.
    3. Alternative Software: If you need a free solution, consider using free alternatives like LibreOffice or Google Docs (though Google Docs requires an internet connection).

For reliable offline access, the best option would be to take advantage of the Microsoft 365 trial to get the desktop version of Word temporarily.
