Subject: URGENT: Account Stuck in Infinite Age Verification Loop After Reaching Legal Adulthood (Graduation Bug)

To Microsoft / Xbox Support Team,

I am writing to report a critical issue with my Microsoft account that is preventing me from accessing any Xbox services.

The problem began exactly when I became a legal adult (I turned 20, the age of majority in my country).

Here is the exact sequence of events:

Before Adulthood: My account was a 'child' account, and I used parental verification for permissions.

After Turning 20 (Legal Adult): When I tried to log in to Xbox, I was completely blocked. The system displayed an error message stating my "profile is insufficient (possibly age-related)" and would not let me sign in at all.

Troubleshooting Attempt: To fix this, I went into my Microsoft account settings and changed my birthdate to a different adult year, trying to force the system to recognize me as an adult.

Current Status (The Infinite Loop): This change partially worked. I can now sign in to Xbox. However, I am now permanently stuck in an infinite "Verify your age" loop.

Anytime I try to access my profile, change settings, or play a game, a pop-up demands I verify my age.

When I try to verify, it either loops back to the same screen or implies a parent must do it, which is impossible as I am an adult. I cannot get past this screen.

I have researched this problem and found that this is a known "Account Graduation Bug" affecting many users when they transition from a 'child' to an 'adult' account.

My account appears to be stuck in a "limbo" state: the system recognizes I am an adult (triggering the verification prompt) but also still treats me as a 'child' member of a family group (which prevents me from verifying myself).

What I Need:

I am a legal adult and I need my account to be fully converted to an 'Adult Account'. The standard online solutions are not working due to this bug.

Please, I need a support agent to manually intervene, correct my account's status, and break this verification loop.스크린샷 2025-11-08 204118

    Hi 세원 박,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A!

I'm sorry to hear that your child account didn't transition correctly when you reached adulthood, and now you're stuck in an age verification loop with Xbox. This is likely caused by a birthdate inconsistency between Xbox recorded data and Microsoft account following your manual edit. Here are your options:

    1 - Reset your birthdate:

2 - If the loop persists, contact Xbox Support directly

You can also try to request help from Microsoft Support directly at Contact Us - Microsoft Support.  The process is similar: sign in and search for your problem, then click Get Help. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click Contact Support to connect to an agent.

Note: The support contact team only works at certain times, check the Contact times to make sure it's suitable to you. If the last window shows that it's unavailable, try opening it again the next day. If you prefer phone support, you can leave a phone number. This way, they can call you and help you.
