I phoned +61 138 400 - showing as V4 IT (V4 Services Pty Ltd) today at 12.30pm. I would like to verify that if this is a legitamate Microsoft technician that I spoke to. He had to enter my computer to help me recover my microsoft account as I forgot my password and could not get back on even when I said forgot password & remembered correctly 3 contact on my Skype. I couldn't recall previous password & guessed at one but if I forgot this one I was hardly likely to remeber others!! Any how, he did get me back onto Outlook email and Microsoft but the proceeded to tell my I had 2 trojans and that anyone could access my details on my computer because my IP address was known via the Trojans. He asked how long ago I cleared my computer, I couldn't recal. He offered to do it at a fee of $190 then dropped to $180. I refused, saying I would get in touch with a local tech person. He said that it would require someone coming to my house and changing the IP address with all my devices and that he could arrange for someone to come. I declined. I have since discovered what he said was false. However, I am orried that he may have accessed information etc from my computer as I had a number of tabs open - emails, facebook, Perpelxity, Heidi app etc. Also worried he may have seen the name of my bank. Can you please advise me if I should be concerned or do anything like change all my passwords etc. Thank you. Gill

This does not sound legitimate, if they offered to send someone to your residence to change the IP address, V4IT seems to be an Australian IT company/website, and not affiliated to Microsoft, how was contact made with them, was there some notification in your browser indicating that there was something wrong with your PC or an Email from them, please provide full details.
