How do I access my office basic edition. I just keep getting told I don't have access to microsoft word but I thought I did

I still have Office 365 app on my laptop is that what is stopping me from using my Office basic edition. Is there a secret how to use Word Basic that I should know about? I just keep getting told I don't have access to Word but I was pretty sure I got it with Basic which is why I chose to go with "only what I need!" Thanks for any help you can give me. I am concerned IF I get any help I won't know. Do I have to keep this up in order to see an answer?

Hello,

Is your subscription the Microsoft 365 Basic? If so, indeed, this subscription does not come with desktop version of Office apps, like Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.

This plan is only for 100GB OneDrive storage.

You can however use the web version for free via https://www.office.com

But when I first signed up for the BASIC it had Word and others available for desktop use. They took it away and didn't lover the price. As a matter of fact, it went up on the monthly plan. So we get screwed. This is no good!!!
