Bing search NOT WORKING in any browser

Bing search does not provide any results - it just freezes. I have cleared cache, cookies and reset settings. I have signed out. I have restarted. Bing search still doesn't work. This happens on Edge and Google browsers. I can search if I use another search engine in Edge - google, duck duck go, etc. It is only the Bing search that isn't working.

This has only happened since the Windows & Edge update. Was working fine a few days ago.

I am on Windows 11 Home 25H2, 26200.7171

Edge Version 142.0.3695.76 (64-bit)

I can't find any other posts about this - HELP!!!

    Hi kristin,

This issue often appears after major updates to Windows 11 (25H2) and Edge. Here’s what’s likely going on:

Update-related bug: The latest Windows and Edge updates changed how Bing integrates with browser features. Some users report Bing freezing or failing after these updates.

Profile or extension conflicts: Even after clearing cache, a corrupted profile or extension can block Bing scripts.

DNS or network filtering: Bing relies on Microsoft endpoints. If DNS settings or security software interfere, Bing may hang while other engines work.

Edge-specific integration: Bing is tied to features like sidebar and Copilot. If those components fail after an update, Bing search can freeze.

This isn’t widely documented yet because it’s tied to recent builds and Microsoft hasn’t published an official fix.

What you can do now is:

Update Edge and Windows fully Go to Settings → Windows Update and install all patches. In Edge, check Help & Feedback → About Microsoft Edge.

Try Bing in InPrivate mode If it works there, an extension or cached data is interfering. Disable extensions under edge://extensions.

Reset Edge completely Go to Settings → Reset settings → Restore settings to their default values. This rebuilds the profile without reinstalling.

Test Bing outside the browser Use Windows Search or Bing.com in another browser profile. If it still freezes, the issue is likely linked to Microsoft’s services or the update.

Optional workaround Until Microsoft releases a fix, you can set another search engine as default in Edge under Settings → Privacy, search, and services.

Let me know how itgoes, Happy to help!

If Bing search is freezing and not providing results, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

    1. Restart Windows Font Cache Service: Sometimes, issues with Windows Search can be resolved by restarting the Windows Font Cache Service. You can do this by:
      • Typing services.msc in the search box on the taskbar to open the Services console.
      • Finding Windows Font Cache Service, right-clicking it, and selecting Stop. After stopping it, right-click again and select Start.
    2. Check for Windows Updates: Ensure that your Windows 11 is up to date. You can check for updates by going to Start > Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update > Check for updates. Install any available updates and restart your computer if necessary.
    3. Try a Different Network: Sometimes network issues can affect search functionality. If possible, try connecting to a different network to see if that resolves the issue.
    4. Disable Extensions: If you have any browser extensions enabled, try disabling them to see if they are interfering with Bing search.

If the problem persists after trying these steps, it may be related to the recent updates you mentioned. In that case, keeping an eye on updates from Microsoft regarding known issues with Bing search might be helpful.

I have similar where bing.com would work for hours and then suddenly stop working and after shutting down and starting back up it would work again.

The message at the bottom was ERR_HTTP2_INADEQUATE_TRANSPORT_SECURITY. I can use the rewards page fine which is rewards.bing.com so I know it's not network related.

I finally disabled my AV and then it suddenly starts working, why the AV suddenly disables this on bing.com no idea but at least I can fix this bs.

This did not work. This must be a specific laptop issue because bing does not work on Google or Edge browser, but I can use bing on my phone browser. I have even done a reset on Edge. What setting am I missing that could be causing this?
