I can't change the language in Office (Word/Excel/Powerpoin) to Spanish

I followed all the instructions to change the language, but it's impossible. For example, in Word, clicking File, then Options, then Language, the Office display language is Spanish (preferred), and Office authoring language too. It doesn´t work (in Excel is the same)

Nor is it resolved by following the Configuration option, the one to modify the MS Office installation (quick repair).

I don't know how to change..

Okay, what's happening with Microsoft 365 Home/Personal is:

    • Office 2024 uses "PerpetualVL2024" or "PerpetualRTM" channels
    • Microsoft 365 uses "Current Channel"
    • Stand-alone language packs only install on certain channels

It is possible to switch, here are the steps:

    • Close all the Office application.
    • Open CMD/Command Prompt
      • Press Windows + S
      • Type cmd
      • Right-click → Run as administrator
    • Run this command to set the correct update channel (run it one-by-one)

    1st Command: cd %programfiles%\Microsoft Office\Office16

    2nd Command: officec2rclient.exe /changesetting Channel=Current

    3rd Command: officec2rclient.exe /update user

    • Reboot your computer
    • Run the installer again for Spanish Language

Are you trying to change the display language or the default proofing language? Or both?

You may have to install a language pack via https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/office/language-accessory-pack-for-microsoft-365-82ee1236-0f9a-45ee-9c72-05b026ee809f .

After you have completed installing the language pack, change the display language via File > Options > Language. Use the buttons to decide which language you sort to the top. Restart all Office applications when you are done.

In some Office applications, such as PowerPoint, the default proofing language will be the same as the selected display language.

In Word, you can set the default language. Go to Review tab > Language group > Language > Set Proofing Language. Choose the desired language and click Set as Default. Click Yes in the dialog box.

If you are prompted to save your template later, choose to do so.

Remember that when you change the default proofing language, the new setting applies to new document based on your template. Existing documents must be dealt with one by one.

    Hi!

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A forum.

This problem is quite common in Office 2021 / 2024 perpetual editions (like Office Professional Plus 2024) and even in Microsoft 365, especially after migrating from Windows 10 to Windows 11 or when Office was installed in a single language base (for example, Japanese or English).

First, you need to check what languages are really installed

    1. Open Word.
    2. Go to File → Options → Language.
    3. Under:
      • Office display language
      • Office authoring languages
    4. Look to the right of Spanish.

Normally it will tell there if it's installed or not installed.

Let me know so I can assist you to the next step.
