Why did Microsoft take away the 'add a comment' function when RSVP'ing to an event, particularly when you were declining? Why? It was a very good function and allowed you to avoid office politics and appearing to just decline a meeting with no reason. PUT IT BACK!

    Dear Bryan Stinocher,

    Welcome to Microsoft Q&A.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I checked the current behavior in the new Outlook for Windows, and here’s what I found:

If you double-click the meeting invitation to open it fully, you should see the RSVP options (Accept, Tentative, Decline) along with a section labeled “Add a message”
    User's image

    • You can type your note in that box and then choose Decline (or any other response).
    • The organizer will receive your RSVP along with the message you added.

If your screen doesn’t look like this or you don’t see the Add a message field, please let me know and share a screenshot of what you see. That will help me guide you more accurately.

I hope this information helps point you in the right direction. If you run into any issues while trying the steps, or if something still doesn’t feel quite right, please don’t hesitate to reach out again. I’ll do my best to support you however I can.

Looking forward to hearing back from you with any updates or additional details.

    Warm regards,
