EGISTEC fingerprint sensor issue on ASUS Q530 after Windows 11 25H2 update

Hello,

I am using an ASUS Creator Laptop Q (Q530) with 1TB SSD, 16GB RAM, RTX3050 6GB graphics, running Windows 11 Home Version 25H2 (OS Build 26200.7171).

After updating to this Windows version, my EGISTEC fingerprint sensor stopped working. Device Manager reports a user-mode driver crash (EgisTouchFP0587.dll), and the device frequently goes offline (location: Port_#0005.Hub_#0001). It also shows a "device settings not migrated" error, with Status: 0xC0000719.

I have tried:

Reinstalling and updating the fingerprint sensor driver from the ASUS support website

Rebooting and trying different USB ports

Checking power management options (no tab available for the fingerprint sensor)

Despite these steps, the fingerprint sensor remains unusable. Could you please advise any solutions or recommend a specific driver/patch for this device and OS version?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you.

To address the issue with your EGISTEC fingerprint sensor on the ASUS Q530 after the Windows 11 25H2 update, you can try the following troubleshooting steps:

    1. Check for Windows Updates: Ensure that your Windows 11 is fully updated, as there may be patches that address driver compatibility issues.
    2. Reinstall the Driver: Since you have already attempted to reinstall the driver, make sure to completely uninstall the existing driver first. You can do this by:
      • Opening Device Manager, right-clicking on the fingerprint sensor, and selecting "Uninstall device."
      • Restarting your computer, which should prompt Windows to reinstall the driver automatically.
    3. Use Compatibility Mode: If the driver from the ASUS support website is not working, try installing it in compatibility mode for an earlier version of Windows. Right-click the driver setup file, go to Properties > Compatibility, and select an earlier version of Windows.
    4. Check Device Manager for Errors: Look for any other devices with warning symbols in Device Manager. If there are issues with other devices, resolving those may help.
    5. Power Management Settings: Although you mentioned no tab is available for the fingerprint sensor, ensure that the USB ports are not set to turn off to save power. You can check this in the Power Options settings under "Change plan settings" > "Change advanced power settings" > "USB settings".
    6. Feedback Hub: If the issue persists, consider filing a feedback item using the Feedback Hub to report the problem to Microsoft, as this may help them address the issue in future updates.

If none of these solutions work, you may want to check with ASUS support for any specific patches or drivers that are compatible with your device and the latest Windows version.
