Using New Outlook on Windows for personal email, calendar, and contact management
Hi,
Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft community. It looks like you’re running into Outlook’s sending limits, which are in place to prevent spam and abuse. These limits are based on how many recipients you can include in a single email and how many you can send to in a day. They aren’t related to the size of your mailbox or the emails you imported from Tutanota, so yesterday’s migration didn’t affect today’s quota.
What’s happening is that Outlook usually allows around 500 recipients per day and about 30–50 per message, depending on the account type. If you’re trying to send to 30 or more people right after moving your account, the system may temporarily restrict you because bulk sending can look suspicious. Even though you’ve updated your security settings, the system might still enforce limits until your account builds trust.
To work around this, you can split your list into smaller batches and use BCC for privacy. If you regularly need to email 50 or more people, creating a contact group in Outlook or using a distribution list with Microsoft 365 Business can make things easier. These restrictions usually ease after 24–48 hours, but if this is urgent or happens often, you can contact Microsoft Support to review your account or consider upgrading to a plan with higher limits.
Hope this works, please let me know how it goes, happy to help!
Regards,
Edward
