I have no sound through the speakers on the laptop. Can connect an external sound device but the regular sound is sporadic.

    Hi ,

    What is the laptop model?

Access the start menu > settings > system > sound > In the audio output there is more than one output.

Select Start > Settings > Sound.

In the Output section, select the audio device you're using (e.g., your speakers or headphones).

On the page that opens, scroll to Advanced settings, then set Audio enhancements to Off from the dropdown menu.

If you're experiencing issues with sound through your laptop speakers on Windows 11, here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially fix the problem:

    1. Check Volume Settings: Ensure that the volume is turned up and not muted. You can check this by clicking on the speaker icon in the taskbar.
    2. Update Audio Drivers: Sometimes, outdated or incompatible audio drivers can cause sound issues. You can check for driver updates by going to Settings > Windows Update > Check for updates. If updates are available, install them.
    3. Run the Audio Troubleshooter: Windows has a built-in troubleshooter that can help identify and fix audio problems. To access it, go to Settings > System > Sound, and under the "Advanced" section, select Troubleshoot.
    4. Check Playback Devices: Right-click on the speaker icon in the taskbar and select Sounds. In the Playback tab, make sure your laptop speakers are set as the default device. If they are disabled, right-click and enable them.
    5. Reinstall Audio Drivers: If updating doesn't work, you might want to uninstall and then reinstall the audio drivers. You can do this through Device Manager. Right-click on the Start button, select Device Manager, find your audio device under "Sound, video and game controllers", right-click it, and select Uninstall device. Restart your laptop, and Windows should automatically reinstall the drivers.
    6. Check for Hardware Issues: If the sound is still sporadic, there may be a hardware issue with the speakers. Connecting an external sound device can help determine if the issue is with the laptop's internal speakers.
    7. Compatibility Issues: If you have recently updated to Windows 11, check if there are known compatibility issues with your audio hardware. Some users have reported issues with specific audio drivers after upgrading.

If these steps do not resolve your issue, you may need to contact your laptop's manufacturer for further assistance.
