Mysterious monthly bill that there's no evidence of on either of my accounts

Hi there,

For well over a year, probably more, I keep seeing a bill on my credit card titled: Microsoft-G120136516 701-2817490 WA for $13.80. I have two different Microsoft accounts, but I have no idea what this charge is for. I have logged into both accounts multiple times and gone to the "Subscription" and "Payment History" tabs -- nothing shows up.

The only Microsoft items I have ever paid for that I am aware of are Skype -- but that's usually 2.99 and appears elsewhere on my bills.

When I have tried to resolve this issue by looking at your site, I keep getting directed to this page: https://support.microsoft.com/home/contact?linkquery=How%20to%20investigate%20a%20billing%20charge%20from%20Microsoft

But the page requires you to sign into your account, go to the "manage payments" section, and navigate from there. Again, both of my accounts show no payments -- and yet a monthly payment is showing up on my credit card. I cannot figure out how to get the payments to stop. I don't even know what tag to add because it's unclear what the payment is for!!

I have tried calling your support line and have been incredibly frustrated when the automated messages have told me they cannot transfer me to a real person. Please, can someone get in touch with me, get my credit card number and help figure out how to stop being charged?!

I am so incredibly frustrated and disappointed with Microsoft's support service -- it seems designed to get people to give up and keep paying for a service they don't want.

    Hello,

With all the facts you presented in your post the only place I can think the charge is coming from might be Microsoft gaming or xbox, do you have a child that plays online videogames? Something like roblox or Minecraft through Microsoft? They might be using your credit card without your knowledge, 13 dollars isn’t enough for any Microsoft office product, but it is roughly the price range for minecoins or robux in those games.

    Hope this helps,

    JC

It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating situation with an unexpected charge from Microsoft. Here are a few steps you can take to investigate and potentially resolve the issue:

    1. Check All Accounts: Ensure you are checking all possible Microsoft accounts you may have. Sometimes users create multiple accounts and may forget about them.
    2. Review Payment Methods: If you have multiple payment methods associated with your accounts, check to see if the charge is linked to a different account or payment method.
    3. Contact Support: Since you mentioned difficulties with automated support, consider trying to reach out via different channels. You can use the Microsoft 365 support page to find options for live chat or email support, which may connect you to a real person.
    4. Look for Subscription Details: Sometimes, subscriptions may not be immediately visible in the account settings. Check if there are any trial subscriptions or services you may have signed up for inadvertently.
    5. Billing History: You can also check your billing history for any subscriptions that may have been created without your knowledge. This can sometimes happen with promotional offers or trials.

If the charge continues and you cannot identify it, you may also want to consider contacting your bank to dispute the charge temporarily while you investigate further.
