I recently lost all of my files in my laptop, and after i got my laptop to start again, now my camera is not working.

errors i got:

  1. 0xA00F4244 NoCamerasAreAttached
  2. 0xA00F429F WindowShowFailed
  3. PageOpenFailed (i forgot the code for this one, but i also got it for a second)

These are some solutions i tried:

  • restarting my laptop.
  • scanning hardware.
  • going to device manager>cameras>integrated camera>properties (which says that the device is working properly).
  • updating the hardware in device manager (it was already updated).
  • uninstalling and re-installing the camera driver from the lenovo page.
  • going to windows update and checking for driver updates.
  • going to F2 BIOS setting and looking for camera but couldn't find it.
  • Using the windows Get Help trouble shooter
  • going to Run>services.msc>Windows Camera Frame Server>start

if someone could help me that would be awesome!

thank you,

Isabella Gomez

Hello, thank you for reaching out to Microsoft Q&A.

    1

    Try System Restore.

Click Windows + R key, type rstrui.exe and click ok.

Select the recent date/time you would like to restore your computer. (Before the camera stopped working_)

Click Next to complete the restore.

    2

    Try the in-place upgrade method.

Download the Windows 11 ISO file from the Official Microsoft website. [Download Windows 11 Disk Image (ISO) for x64 devices]

    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows11

    • Once the ISO file is ready, right-click the ISO file and select Mount.
    • Locate the Setup.exe file in the list and run it.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.

Note - All of your files, apps, and settings will be preserved during the upgrade.

It sounds like you're experiencing several issues with your camera after your laptop restart. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

    1. Check Camera Settings: Go to the camera settings page in Windows. You can do this by searching for Settings, then navigating to Bluetooth & devices > Cameras. Ensure that your integrated camera is listed and enabled.
    2. Device Manager: Since you mentioned that the device is working properly in Device Manager, double-check that there are no warning signs (like an exclamation mark) next to the camera device. If there are, try updating the driver again or rolling back to a previous version if available.
    3. Camera Privacy Settings: Make sure that camera access is enabled for your apps. Go to Settings > Privacy & security > Camera and ensure that the option to allow apps to access your camera is turned on.
    4. Troubleshoot the Camera: Use the built-in troubleshooter for the camera. Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters and run the troubleshooter for the camera.
    5. Check for Windows Updates: Sometimes, Windows updates can resolve driver issues. Go to Settings > Windows Update and check for any available updates.
    6. Reinstall the Camera Driver: You mentioned uninstalling and reinstalling the driver, but ensure you completely remove the driver from Device Manager before reinstalling it. After uninstalling, restart your laptop and let Windows reinstall the driver automatically.
    7. BIOS Settings: Since you checked the BIOS settings, make sure that the camera is enabled in the BIOS. If it’s not listed, it may indicate a hardware issue.
    8. Check for Hardware Issues: If none of the above solutions work, there might be a hardware issue with the camera itself. You may want to contact Lenovo support for further assistance.

If you continue to receive the errors you mentioned, they could indicate that the camera is not being recognized by Windows, which may require further investigation into hardware or driver issues.
