I'm having an issue trying to add an account to outlook 365. The wizard prompts me for the e-mail address, which is a custom domain not Gmail or outlook. I enter the e-mail address and it goes through the motions of sending it up and makes me pick IMAP when I want POP3. At no point am I offered the choice of either IMAP or POP3, IMAP Is forced upon me. How can I select POP3?

Hi! Are you using the Outlook New app or the Classic app? Also, are you using this on Pc or Mac?

    1. Open Outlook 365 and go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings.

No such option. I get Settings or Account Info

    1. Choose Manual setup or additional server types and click Next.

This is never presented as an option.

To select POP3 in Outlook 365 when adding an account, you may need to manually configure the account settings instead of using the automatic setup wizard. Here are the steps you can follow:

    1. Open Outlook 365 and go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings.
    2. Click on New to add a new account.
    3. Choose Manual setup or additional server types and click Next.
    4. Select POP or IMAP and click Next.
    5. Fill in the required information:
      • Your Name
      • Email Address
      • Account Type: Select POP3.
      • Incoming mail server: Outlook.office365.com
      • Outgoing mail server (SMTP): Smtp.office365.com
      • User Name: Your full email address
      • Password: Your email password
    6. Click on More Settings and go to the Outgoing Server tab. Check the box for My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
    7. In the Advanced tab, set the incoming server (POP3) port to 995 and enable SSL/TLS encryption. Set the outgoing server (SMTP) port to 587 with STARTTLS encryption.
    8. Click OK, then Next, and finally Finish to complete the setup.

If you are still unable to select POP3, ensure that your email provider allows POP3 access and that it is enabled for your account.
