OneDrive not allowing me to share or play mp4 files...

I have no idea what's going on, but none of the mp4 files I'm trying to share currently are able to be viewed as if I don't have an internet connection (even though all other sites are working just fine for me). When I or the person whom I've shared it with try to click on the embed link, it just shows a photo of the video and doesn't even bother to load. When I try to download the video, it immediately fails to download.

What's going on here, exactly?? Everything's incredibly slow to load in OneDrive even when I'm trying to select certain files, and it doesn't even comply when I try to use "files upload" to upload the video again.

    Hi,

I'm really sorry if you're having problems. You might not be able to play, distribute, or upload MP4 files to OneDrive because of a codec that doesn't function, problems with your browser's cache, a slow or unreliable internet connection, or maybe the file size or permissions.

I want to make sure I understand:

Are these MP4 files home videos that you generated on your own equipment, like a smartphone, or files that you acquired from the internet that were prepared by professionals? (This helps you figure out how likely it is that there are weird codecs or DRM protection.)

Do you and the other person always use the same device and browser when the problem happens? For instance, are they both using Chrome on a PC or the OneDrive app on their phones?

Does your app or browser display you a specific error message or status number that could help you figure out what went wrong if you try to download the file and it "immediately fails"?

    Regards,

It seems you are experiencing issues with sharing and playing MP4 files in OneDrive. Here are a few potential reasons and solutions for the problem:

    1. Internet Connection: Although you mentioned that other sites are working fine, ensure that your internet connection is stable and not experiencing intermittent issues, as this can affect file sharing and playback.
    2. File Permissions: Check if the permissions for the MP4 files allow sharing. If the sharing settings are not configured correctly, it may prevent others from accessing the files.
    3. File Size and Format: Ensure that the MP4 files are not exceeding any size limits set by OneDrive. Additionally, verify that the files are in a supported format.
    4. Browser Issues: Sometimes, browser settings or cache can interfere with file sharing and playback. Try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser to see if that resolves the issue.
    5. OneDrive Service Status: Check if there are any ongoing issues with OneDrive services that might be affecting file sharing and playback. You can visit the Microsoft service status page for updates.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, you may want to reach out to Microsoft support for further assistance.
