    Hi Dennis,

The fix is to remove the old Comcast account from Outlook and add it again using the new Yahoo sign in for your comcast.net address. This switches Outlook to the correct Yahoo servers and restores sync.

First confirm your mailbox was moved. In a web browser sign in at login.yahoo.com with your full comcast.net email address and your current password. If you can sign in there, the move is complete and you can re-add the account in Outlook.

Now add it in Outlook with the Yahoo provider. Open Outlook. Select File, Add account. Enter your full comcast.net address and choose Continue. If Outlook shows Select provider, choose Yahoo. A Yahoo window opens. Sign in with your comcast.net email and password, then approve access. Wait for the success message and let Outlook finish the first sync. Your Inbox should start downloading new mail.

After you see new mail arriving, go to File, Account Settings, Account Settings. On the Email tab remove the old Comcast entry so only the newly added Yahoo based comcast.net account remains. Removing the old entry does not delete any local folders you already have in Outlook.

If anything in these steps does not match what you see on screen, tell me exactly which prompt you get when adding the account, and I will adjust the next step.

If you are unable to download new emails in Outlook after switching to Xfinity/Yahoo email, it may be related to the configuration of your email account or the AutoDiscover service. Here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:

    1. Check Account Settings: Ensure that your Xfinity/Yahoo email account is set up correctly in Outlook. You may need to verify the incoming and outgoing server settings, as well as your username and password.
    2. Use ExcludeLastKnownGoodUrl: You can try to prevent Outlook from using the last known good AutoDiscover URL by modifying the registry. Here’s how:
      • Open the Registry Editor (type regedit in the Windows search box).
      • Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\<x.0>\Outlook\Autodiscover (replace <x.0> with your version of Office, e.g., 16.0 for Office 2016).
      • Create a new DWORD value named ExcludeLastKnownGoodUrl and set its value to 1.
    3. Create a New Outlook Profile: If the above steps do not work, consider creating a new Outlook profile:
      • Exit Outlook.
      • Go to Control Panel and select Mail.
      • Click on Show Profiles and then Add to create a new profile.
      • Follow the prompts to add your email account and set it as the default profile.
    4. Contact Support: If the problem persists, it may be necessary to contact Xfinity or Yahoo support for assistance, as there may be issues with the email service itself.

These steps should help you configure Outlook to download new emails from your Xfinity/Yahoo account.
