My UI is in Finnish. When I try to follow a C# course on MS Learn, I start it in English, follow it for a while, then want to take a break. I make a bookmark and come back later using the bookmark. Then I notice the system has changed the language to AI created 'Finnish' which is just garbage. How can I force MS Learn to stay in English?

To ensure that Microsoft Learn stays in English while you are using the platform, you can change the language settings in your profile. Here’s how you can do it:

  1. Profile Settings: Go to your profile settings on Microsoft Learn.
  2. Language Preferences: Look for language preferences or settings where you can select your desired language.
  3. Select English: Set the language to English (United States) or your preferred English variant.

By doing this, the platform should retain your language preference, and you should not experience automatic switching to Finnish or any other language when you return to your bookmarked content.

If the issue persists, consider clearing your browser's cache or checking if there are any specific settings in your browser that might affect language preferences.

Hello MerSi, Thanks for posting this in our community.

Microsoft Learn uses your UI language settings, browser preferences, and sometimes account regional settings to determine the display language. When you return via a bookmark, the system may reapply these defaults, overriding your previous choice.

To force Microsoft Learn to stay in English, start by going to the Microsoft Learn website and scroll to the bottom of the page. In the footer, look for the language selector, which will usually show “Suomi” if Finnish is active. Change it to English (United States) or your preferred English variant. This sets a persistent cookie for language preference.

Next, check your browser language settings. In Edge or Chrome, go to Settings and then Languages. Make sure English is at the top of the list and move Finnish below English or remove it entirely. If you have browser translation enabled, turn off auto-translate for Microsoft Learn to prevent AI-based translations from interfering. Restart the browser after making these changes.

Finally, review your Microsoft account regional settings. Sign in to account.microsoft.com, navigate to Your info, and edit your country or region. Set it to a region where English is the default, such as the United States, and save the changes.

    Kind regards,

    John Oli
