Processes in Microsoft 365 for setting up Office apps, redeeming product keys, and activating licenses.
Hi, I understand how confusing that can be when you’re already logged in as an administrator.
The error usually happens because Windows is blocking the installer from writing to the folder due to permission settings or UAC restrictions, even if you have admin rights.
Let’s start with a couple of quick checks: first, right-click the installer and choose Run as administrator if you haven’t already.
Next, check the folder you’re installing to go to C:\Users<YourName> and make sure your account has Full Control under the Security tab.
If that looks fine, try changing the install location to something like C:\Program Files or create a new folder like C:\Apps with full permissions.
If it still fails, we might need to adjust UAC settings or run the installer from an elevated Command Prompt.
Before we go deeper, can you confirm if this is a personal PC or part of a company network?
And is the installer a standard .exe or .msi file?
Regards,
Aron
