    Hi Arkady,

I just came across with your post here. I understand how this can catch you off guard after an upgrade. What’s happening is your laptop likely has Lenovo’s Conservation Mode turned on, which limits charging to around 60% to help extend battery life. It’s a built-in feature, not a fault. You can check this by opening the Lenovo Vantage app and looking under Battery Settings.

If Conservation Mode is enabled, switch it off to allow full charging. While you’re at it, make sure your power management drivers and BIOS are up to date from Lenovo’s support site. If the issue persists, try a quick power reset: shut down, unplug the charger, hold the power button for 30 seconds, then restart.

Do you usually keep the laptop plugged in most of the time, or do you run it on battery often?

    Regards,

    Rez

If your Lenovo IdeaPad S340 battery is not charging above 60% after installing Windows 11, it could be due to a battery management feature that limits the maximum charge to extend battery lifespan. This feature is often found in laptops to prevent overcharging and to maintain battery health. Here are a few steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the issue:

    1. Check Battery Settings: Go to the Lenovo Vantage app or Windows Settings to see if there is a battery conservation mode enabled. If so, you may need to disable it to allow the battery to charge beyond 60%.
    2. Update Drivers: Ensure that all your drivers, especially the battery and power management drivers, are up to date. You can do this through Device Manager or the Lenovo support website.
    3. Power Settings: Check your power settings in Windows. Go to Settings > System > Power & Sleep > Additional power settings. Ensure that your selected power plan does not have any restrictions on battery charging.
    4. BIOS Settings: Sometimes, battery charging settings can be adjusted in the BIOS. Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS setup (usually by pressing F2 or Delete during startup) to check if there are any battery-related settings.
    5. Battery Calibration: If the issue persists, consider calibrating your battery. This involves fully charging the battery, then discharging it completely before charging it back to 100%.

If none of these steps resolve the issue, it may be worth contacting Lenovo support for further assistance.
