Linking my iphone Calendar to outlook 'new'...aka 365

I have all the latest downloads etc on both my iphone15 and desktop and latop.

I have been using desktop outlook (classic) via the office program for year and use iphone as my calendar.pst. which allows me to view my emails and calendar on both my iphone and laptop...no problems generally

Ive just signed up for 365 premium to make remote working easier...not. Emails work on all 3 devices, iphone, laptop and pc, i can see and sync with zero problems.

I can choose the outlook calendar and create a fake appointment and see it on my phone/pc but if i use my default calendar (my phone/icloud) whilst i can see this on my phone, i cannot even see an icloud tab in outlook 'new' (classic still works).

I've removed outlook from my phone and added again, same results

ive signed out of icloud and back again...same again

my email (outlook) is the same address for my icloud account

I am in contact with support who either dont reply or send me info about outlook classic...which is NOT a problem.

I tried quite a few removes, even toyed with dragging .pst files etc but nothing

In short outlook 'new' does not even display an icloud tab in calendars, where as outlook classic, shows the icloud - main calendar tab...which is my default

Anyone please shed some light why outlook 'new' will NOT display or sync with my icloud calendar??

    Hi,

Thanks for the update! If you stay with iCloud, it works perfectly with your iPhone and Apple devices, but the new Outlook doesn’t integrate as smoothly, you’ll need extra steps and collaboration features are limited. Switching to Outlook.com gives full Microsoft 365 compatibility and better sharing, but you’ll have to migrate your events and it’s less seamless on iPhone.

If remote work and Microsoft integration matter most, Outlook.com is the better choice. If you prefer Apple’s simplicity, iCloud is fine, just expect some limitations.

Hope this clarify things, if need guidance please post back. ,I'm happy to help!

    Warm regards,

    Edward

    Hi,

Thanks for the question, creating an @icloud.com alias doesn’t automatically merge calendars. If you switch to that alias, you’d need to move your existing Outlook.com calendar (currently synced through iCloud) to the new alias manually. After that, merging it back into Outlook.com would still require exporting and importing the calendar data, because neither iCloud nor Outlook offers a true one-click merge.

In short, whether you move it to the alias first or directly to Outlook.com, the effort is about the same since both involve exporting from one service and importing into the other. Unfortunately, there’s no automatic sync or merge between these two systems.

    Regards,

    Edward

    HI,

Thank you for the update, The new Outlook for Windows (part of Microsoft 365) does not automatically integrate iCloud calendars like the classic version did. You must manually add your iCloud account in the new Outlook settings. If you skip this, the iCloud tab won’t appear, and your iPhone calendar won’t sync, I advise to use an @icloud.com address when adding the account, even if your Apple ID uses Outlook.com or Gmail. Outlook needs the iCloud alias for calendar sync.

Here's how to Add iCloud in New Outlook

Open New Outlook → Settings → Accounts → Add Account → choose iCloud.

Enter your @icloud.com email and paste the app-specific password you generated.

If you keep getting prompts, double-check that you’re not using your Apple ID email (like Outlook.com) you need the iCloud alias.

If you don’t have an @icloud.com address, create one in your Apple ID settings, it’s required for calendar sync.

If Outlook still fails, it’s a known limitation: New Outlook doesn’t fully support iCloud calendars yet. Workarounds:

Use Outlook Web for Microsoft 365 calendars Or keep Classic Outlook with iCloud for Windows installed for full sync.

Let me know if this helps and need clarification, I'm happy to help!

    Warm regards,

    Edward

    Hi,

Thanks for reaching out to the Microsoft community and sharing the details. I understand you’re having trouble with the new Outlook not showing an iCloud calendar tab. Let me help you with this.

Just to clarify, when you switched to the new Outlook, did you add your iCloud account directly in Outlook’s account settings using an app-specific password, or are you still relying on the old iCloud for Windows add-in? This is important because the new Outlook doesn’t support COM add-ins, so the old method won’t work.

Here’s what you can try: add your iCloud account in the new Outlook settings by going to Settings → Accounts → Add Account, selecting iCloud, and signing in with an app-specific password from your Apple ID account page. Without this step, calendars won’t sync. Also, make sure you use your @icloud.com address when adding the account, even if your Apple ID uses a different email.

Keep in mind that even after adding iCloud, some users report slow or incomplete syncing. If calendar integration is critical, you may need to stick with Classic Outlook, use iCloud.com, or rely on your iPhone until Microsoft improves support.

Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.

    Kind regards,

    Edward

It seems that you're experiencing issues with syncing your iCloud calendar with the new Outlook interface after upgrading to Microsoft 365. The new Outlook does not currently support adding iCloud calendars directly as it does in the classic version. This might be why you're not seeing the iCloud tab in the new Outlook calendar view.

Here are a few suggestions that might help:

    1. Check Account Settings: Ensure that your iCloud account is properly set up in the new Outlook. Sometimes, the account may need to be re-added or configured correctly.
    2. Use Outlook on the Web: Since the new Outlook is still evolving, consider using Outlook on the Web (OWA) for accessing your iCloud calendar until full support is available in the desktop version.
    3. Feedback to Microsoft: Since this is a feature that many users may find beneficial, consider providing feedback to Microsoft regarding the lack of iCloud calendar integration in the new Outlook.
    4. Continue Using Classic Outlook: If the classic Outlook is working well for you, it may be worth continuing to use it alongside the new Outlook until the new version supports iCloud calendars.

If the problem persists, keep in touch with Microsoft support for updates on this feature.
