How do I access a very old pre-Microsoft Minecraft account?

Hi, I have a very old Minecraft account that was created back before Microsoft owned Minecraft and before accounts were migrated to Microsoft/Outlook logins.

I’m trying to access this old account again. I’m pretty sure I still have access to the original email it was created with, but I don’t know the proper steps to recover or migrate it now that Mojang accounts were phased out.

How can I regain access to this account, and what process should I follow?

Thanks.

Hello, good day and thanks for your question. To add to the above, when was the last time that you have accessed the account? Kindly take note as well that account migration ended almost two years ago and you can see the links below for reference.

To regain access to your old Minecraft account that was created before Microsoft acquired Mojang, you will need to follow these general steps:

    1. Visit the Minecraft Account Migration Page: Go to the official Minecraft website and look for the account migration section. This is where you can start the process of linking your old Mojang account to a Microsoft account.
    2. Enter Your Old Account Details: You will need to provide the email address associated with your old Minecraft account. If you have access to that email, make sure to check for any verification emails from Mojang or Microsoft.
    3. Follow the Migration Instructions: If your account is eligible for migration, follow the prompts provided on the website. This usually involves verifying your email and creating a new Microsoft account if you don’t already have one.
    4. Check for Support: If you encounter any issues during the migration process, you may want to reach out to Minecraft support for assistance. They can provide guidance specific to your situation.
    5. Access Your Account: Once the migration is complete, you should be able to log in to Minecraft using your new Microsoft account credentials.

Make sure to keep your recovery information updated to avoid future access issues.
