Random games keep crashing. What is going on??

On Oct 23rd I purchased and installed Powerwash Simulator 2. After playing for a while, the game just closed suddenly. No stuttering or lag, just suddenly I was staring at my desktop. The game continued to crash randomly, sometimes after a minute of playing, sometimes after an hour or two. Then ZZZ and Rhythm Doctor started crashing. I bought and installed Rhythm Doctor a week or so ago, but I've had ZZZ installed and played since it's launch over a year ago with no issues what so ever until just recently, just before the latest update dropped.

This issue does not affect all the games I play. BF6 runs perfectly fine on nearly maxed out settings and I've never had an issue despite playing hours at a time some days. State of Decay 2 and Peak also run perfectly fine. I'm just at a loss of what to do or where even to look. All my drivers are up to date, game files and my computer in general have no corrupted files. No malware detected on the system according to Malwarebytes. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the games, changed the drivers they were installed on, but nothing works. I don't know if the crashing is connected, or just random chance it all started around the same time.

I'm completely lost on where to even look or what to do about any of it.

The dmp files indicate that the Nvidia graphics and the EA anticheat driver is causing the crash. These are most likely due to driver issues, overheating, and hardware-related problems. Try the following steps.

    • If you are overclocking or have XMP,DOCP profile enabled. Please revert any changes and then set them to their optimal or default values.
    • Clean and install Nvidia graphics drivers.

Download the latest driver from the manufacturer's support site.

    Run the driver installer.

    Select Custom Install

    and perform a clean install.

Once the installation is complete, restart your computer.

Suppose this doesn't solve the problem. In some cases, the latest driver causes system instability. Try an older, stable version of the graphics drivers.

    • Reinstall and update the chipset drivers and check for the latest BIOS updates.

Updating the BIOS and chipset drivers resolves known issues and improves system stability. Do not use any driver downloaders or updaters to download drivers. Then observe whether the system stabilizes.

    • The dmp files also indicate that the EA Anticheat is causing the crash. Fully uninstall any third-party security and malware cleaner tools. In some cases, they are causing conflict with the anti-cheat programs.
    • Completely uninstall the game along with its anti-cheat software, then monitor for another crash. Once the crash occurs, share the generated dump files, as they may help us identify whether other drivers are contributing to the issue. If none of these suggestions work. I would recommend checking the game community forum for the latest issues related to their anti-cheat program.

Thank you for the update. It appears the attached dump file originates from the game. I suggest reaching out to the game’s support team or submitting it to their forum for a detailed review.

The latest dmp file indicate memory corruption.

    • Make sure all power and PCIe cables are connected correctly. When you connect the power cables to the graphics card, you should hear a click or feel them snap into place, which ensures a secure connection.
    • In most cases, these problems are caused by overheating. Make sure all fans are running and dissipating enough heat to prevent overheating.
    • Running a memory test can help us detect if you have faulty memory or can be a bad memory slot. We need at least 8 passes. It sounds like you're experiencing a frustrating issue with random game crashes on your system. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the problem:

    1. Check for Windows Updates: Ensure that your Windows operating system is fully updated, as updates can include important fixes for gaming performance and stability.
    2. Verify Game Files: If you're using a platform like Steam or the Microsoft Store, verify the integrity of the game files for the affected games. This can help identify and fix any corrupted files.
    3. Update Gaming Services: Make sure that your Gaming Services are up to date. You can do this by launching PowerShell as an administrator and running the following commands:
         get-appxpackage Microsoft.GamingServices | remove-AppxPackage -allusers
         start ms-windows-store://pdp/?productid=9MWPM2CQNLHN

This will remove the old version and prompt you to install the latest one.
    4. Check for Background Applications: Sometimes, background applications can interfere with games. Try closing unnecessary applications while gaming to see if that resolves the issue.
    5. Graphics Drivers: While you mentioned that your drivers are up to date, it might be worth checking specifically for your graphics card drivers. Sometimes, rolling back to a previous version can also help if a new update is causing issues.
    6. Check System Resources: Monitor your system's resource usage (CPU, RAM, GPU) while playing games to see if any resource is being maxed out, which could lead to crashes.
    7. Event Viewer: Check the Windows Event Viewer for any error messages related to the crashes. This can provide clues about what might be going wrong.
    8. Reinstall Affected Games: Since you've already tried reinstalling the games, ensure that you are also removing any leftover files or settings that might be causing conflicts.

If the issue persists even after trying these steps, consider reaching out to the support teams for the specific games that are crashing, as they may have additional troubleshooting steps or patches available.
