No connection to the outgoing server for my T-Online email address

After working without problems for a while, outgoing email has stopped working.

The following error message appears:

"The connection to the outgoing server (SMTP) was interrupted. Check your outgoing server (SMTP) settings and try again."

I deleted the account and tried to reinstall it, but this error message is still giving me trouble.

What is the problem and how can I fix it?

    Hello Bernd,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing the details of your issue I understand how frustrating it can be when email works fine for a while and then suddenly stops sending messages. This usually happens due to changes in server settings, authentication requirements or network restrictions.

The error message indicates that the connection to the outgoing server (SMTP) was interrupted which often points to incorrect SMTP settings or blocked ports. To resolve this please verify that your outgoing server settings are correct. For T-Online ensure you are using the proper SMTP server address, the correct port (usually 587 with STARTTLS or 465 with SSL) and that “My outgoing server requires authentication” is enabled using the same credentials as your incoming mail. Also check if your firewall, antivirus or VPN is blocking the connection and confirm your internet connection is stable. If the issue persists try creating a new Outlook profile or updating your Outlook and Windows to the latest version as outdated software can cause compatibility issues.

Could you confirm if you have already checked your SMTP settings and authentication options?

I hope this answer is helpful if you have further questions feel free to reply back

    Regards,

    Marcelo
