How do I remove the anchors on the pages so I can realign and redo things. I converted a PDF to MS Word and need to change things before I print them.

    Hi,

If you want full control over where objects land in a Word document you've converted from a PDF, switch their wrapping style to "In Line with Text." This turns images and text boxes into regular text elements, so moving and lining them up gets way easier.

After you convert your PDF, just click on the image or text box, once you see the anchor, hit the Layout Options icon next to it. Pick "In Line with Text." That’s it. Now the object acts like part of your text, and you can move it around without fighting with anchors.

Do this for every floating object you want to fix. The anchor icon will vanish, and your objects will follow your text as you edit, which makes everything simpler.

To remove anchors from a Word document, you typically need to delete the objects or elements that are anchored to the text. In Word, anchors are often associated with images, text boxes, or other objects that are placed in the document. Here’s how you can remove them:

    1. Show the Anchors: First, ensure that you can see the anchors. You can do this by enabling the display of formatting marks. Go to the Home tab and click on the paragraph symbol (¶) in the Paragraph group.
    2. Select the Object: Click on the object (like an image or text box) that has an anchor. You should see the anchor symbol next to it.
    3. Delete the Object: Press the Delete key on your keyboard to remove the object and its anchor.
    4. Realign Your Content: After removing the anchors, you can realign and adjust your document as needed.

If you need to adjust the layout further or if the anchors are part of a more complex structure (like a table or grouped objects), you may need to ungroup or adjust those elements accordingly.

Since you mentioned converting from a PDF, keep in mind that the formatting may not always translate perfectly, and you might need to make additional adjustments after removing the anchors.
