Hi Asanda,
I completely understand why you’d want clarity before making the move. The good news is that Windows 11 licenses are not tied to the country where you purchased them. Once your copy of Windows 11 Pro or Home is activated, it will continue to work normally no matter where in the world you use it including South Africa.
The only time location might come into play is with things like regional settings, language packs, or availability of certain features and services (for example, Cortana or Microsoft Store content can vary by region). But the operating system itself, and your license, remain valid globally. You won’t need to buy a new license just because you’ve changed countries.
If you ever reinstall Windows or change hardware, you’ll just need to make sure you have your product key or that your license is linked to your Microsoft account. That way, activation will be seamless wherever you are.
So rest assured: your Windows 11 will keep running smoothly after your move. The only adjustments you may want to make are to your time zone, keyboard layout, and regional preferences once you’re settled in South Africa.
I hope this helps,
