Hello Katie,
Thank you for reaching out and sharing your experience after upgrading to Windows 11 I understand how frustrating it can be when personalization options feel limited especially when aesthetics are important to you. Many users value the ability to customize their interface and it’s disappointing when the available settings don’t meet expectations.
The reason for this limitation is that Windows 11 uses a design language that applies color accents differently compared to previous versions. Accent colors are influenced by the overall theme which can make lighter shades appear darker in certain modes. While the built-in settings don’t currently allow full control over lightening or darkening colors based on mode there is an alternative approach you can try.
One solution is to enable transparency effects and adjust your accent color to a custom shade using the color picker in Settings select Personalization select Colors. Transparency can help soften the appearance of darker tones and make them look lighter on the taskbar. Additionally you can experiment with custom RGB values to get closer to your preferred pink shade. If this still doesn’t achieve the look you want third-party personalization tools such as Start11 or TranslucentTB offer more flexibility for taskbar color and appearance.
Would you like me to guide you through creating a custom color using RGB values or share some trusted third-party tools for deeper customization?
I hope this answer is helpful if you have further questions feel free to reply back
Regards,
Marcelo
