If you choose to cancel your subscription, then on the next window scroll down, you should see the hidden option to get the Microsoft 365 Classic version for the cheaper price, that is only available to existing Microsoft 365 subscribers.

To change from Microsoft 365 Personal to a more basic version, you would typically need to cancel your current subscription and then purchase a different plan that meets your needs. However, Microsoft does not offer a standalone "classic" version of Word or other Office applications; instead, you can consider purchasing a one-time purchase version of Office, such as Office Home & Student, which includes basic applications like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint without the subscription model.

Here are the steps you can follow:

    1. Cancel your Microsoft 365 Personal subscription if you haven't already done so. You can do this through the Microsoft account management page.
    2. Visit the Microsoft Store or the Office website to find the version of Office you want to purchase (e.g., Office Home & Student).
    3. Select the product and follow the prompts to complete your purchase.

Keep in mind that the one-time purchase version does not include updates or the cloud services that come with a subscription plan.

If you need further assistance or specific details about purchasing options, consider contacting Microsoft Support for guidance.
