Yes, same issue here. It's a big problem. The text tool is cutting off the last couple words or characters, no matter how big I make the text box or even if I add a bunch of spaces after the last word. This was never an issue until the last couple of weeks

I'm having the same issue. I always use the pdf viewer and text option to fill out my time sheets. In the last month, the text box changes the spacing and cuts the end of the text off, regardless of text box size. I've also tried turning of the "new pdf viewer" and that changed nothing.

For example, I typically will use this feature to fill out dates at the top of the time sheet like this

"1/1 1/2 1/3 1/4 1/4 1/5 1/6"

I do this so it will fit in the premade table on the time sheet at work, recently when I would do this though, it would do this after I clicked away from the text box.

"1/1 1/2 1/3 1/4"

It cuts off the last few entries and drastically increases the spacing between dates, throwing them out of alignment with the form I fill out.

I can and have been making separate text boxes, but it looks so much neater, cleaner, and easier spacing them out in one box.

This problem has been going on for years. MicroSoft does things like this to force you into purchasing another MicroSoft application (in this case Smallpdf Edit PDF). They keep updating MicroSoft to ensure other apps have enough issues that users are forced into only using MicroSoft apps. That's why the gov't tries to limit monopolies like MicroSoft

Hitting the enter key enables to display the last words, yet they appear on the next line... which might not be the desired paging.

I've also consistently had this issue of Outlook's text tool cutting off the end of my text. I try making the font smaller and the box larger, and it does not fix the problem. This is such a simple feature and very frustrating that it does not work correctly in allowing us to add important text to PDF documents.

It's frustrating when PDF text disappears. This usually happens if the text box is too small, the font doesn't fit, or the PDF is read-only.

Here's what you can do: Use the Edit Text or Add Text tool, resize the text box, and reduce the font size. If using Adobe Acrobat, ensure the PDF isn't locked.

What app are you using? Does this happen while typing or after saving?

It looks like this is a known issue with Microsoft Edge’s PDF viewer after recent updates. The disappearing text usually happens because of a bug in the new PDF rendering engine, especially when using the “Add text” or annotation tool. It happened after saving. But I never see that problem. I always wrote with the same police, the same size, ... But after the new Microsoft edge update, it happened. I think it can not be solved just by changing some display sttings

Actually, the font or size isn't the problem. A bug from the newest Edge update is causing it. After saving, Edge's PDF engine sometimes drops added text layers. Microsoft knows about it and is working on a fix.

For now, disable the new PDF viewer by going to edge://flags, find edge-new-pdf-viewer, and disable it. Restart Edge. This should bring back the old way it worked. You can also turn on the Adobe PDF extension in Edge or just use a different editor until Microsoft fixes it. The next best action is to disable the new viewer and enalbe the adobe pdf extension.

Hi Issam,

I finally found a solution for this - go into settings in edge, search font, adjust the font's to Arial, adjust the font size to Medium(recommended). Fixed width font to Centruy. One of these fixed my text over PDF issue which I've had for 6 months. I hope this helps you and others.

I thought I was going crazy. I knew it used to work and couldn't figure out why my text was getting cut off. I found Adobe has a free PDF tool online that can be used to fill in PDFs if you don't have Acrobat.

Your solution does not work. I've tried adding spaces, making font smaller, making text box longer and none of those solutions fix the problem of the text being cut off. While I type the text, it appears my entire word is visible but when I click out of the text box last names of people's names are cut off. I tried hitting enter after the line thinking that I could make the text box larger that way, but the word truncates. Please please find an accurate and final fix to solve this text cut-off issue in Outlook's text box

Scroll down to Fonts and set these 4 options as the same:

Standard font: Arial

Serif font: Arial

Sans-serif font: Arial

Fixed-width font: Arial

(I have not tried with other fonts)

If you already disabled New PDF viewer try this also:

Go to Edge Settings → Appearance.

Scroll down to Fonts and set these 4 options as the same:

Standard font: Arial

Serif font: Arial

Sans-serif font: Arial

Fixed-width font: Arial

(I have not tried with other fonts)

We are also experiencing the same issue and it worked in 2025. When viewing the file from the EDGE and tries to add text it cuts of the last word, a resize of the text box makes no difference.

As a workaround we have found that we can hit enter after the last word and it will display the word. Another workaround we found was to save the file and then open the pdf file directly in Adobe Acrobat Reader DC and edit the text here, here it does not remove the last word.

So it looks to be only occurring when trying to do through the Edge browser.
