How to make Word Paste Text as copied instead of converting it to MS San Serif (size 10)?

I am trying to copy my own work into a second document. Word will not copy and paste with the font(s) I used. It insists on changing the font to MS San Serif (size #10)

I copied a number of paragraphs with large, bold titles, normal text, (I prefer to use Times New Roman #12) and quotes in italics. Word notified me that there were several different font types copied, and asked if I would like to use a "Standard" font instead. I responded "NO" but it now pastes EVERYTHING in MS Sans Serif, no matter what I try to copy and paste. I checked all the "Options" for using Word, changed a few, and rebooted. It still pastes everything in MS Sans Serif!

How can I fix this???

    By default, pasting usually takes on the formatting set in the receiving documents. Other replies in this thread suggest how you can force your formatting on to an existing document. In the long run, though, you will get better results from Word by formatting a template or document to the styles that you intend for the final appearance. Then, pasting content in will automatically assume the look that you seek.

    In Word, go to File > Options > Advanced and in Cut, copy, and paste set Pasting between documents (and Pasting from other programs, if applicable) to Keep Source Formatting. Also make sure Show Paste Options button when content is pasted is enabled, so after you paste you can pick Keep Source Formatting from the paste options.
