From your sample screenshot, I think you would have an easier time creating your document in PowerPoint instead of Word.
To continue in Word, it will help if you click on the backwards P icon on the Home tab. This will show the invisible formatting characters and make it easier to diagnose what problem you're having.
You will have at least one paragraph mark on your page. If you add a Page Break before that paragraph mark, you will create a page before the current one. Adding a Page Break after the paragraph mark will create a new page after the current page.
