I stumbled upon a slight work around. Right click the event you are wanting to move. Select Duplicate Event. In the new window, you can select which existing calendar you want to duplicate to (If you need a new calendar, create that before this step). Select Save. Left click the top event that you copied (the calendar that it is saved under will show in the pop-up). Simply click delete to remove the initial event. Hope that helps!

When I try this I get the message below. And if I click [Discard] the copy on the other Calendar is blank except for the Date/Time. What am I missing?

You are absolutely correct. You are not missing anything. Unfortunately the Microsoft developers are missing a great deal of common sense.

I have to maintain two calendars and it's ridiculous that you can only preserve the time and date. The only way I have coped with this is by cutting and pasting all the other info once I've got the appointment in the other calendar. This is a right royal unnecessary nuisance.

Hi Anderson Kellie-Lyn, It sounds frustrating to deal with something that used to be simple but now requires extra steps. Microsoft changes to New Outlook have caught a lot of people off guard so youre definitely not alone in feeling this way.

To move events switch back to Classic Outlook, open Calendar in List view select your events then right click and choose Move then Other Folder to pick the target calendar.

This is like saying that if you buy a car and it doesn't work, you should go back to horseback riding! I hope that this gets properly fixed. The Classic Outlook had serious problems, notably being very slow to open and close if the .pst file was of any size, which is why I moved to the new version.....but maybe the answer is to use an old paper diary instead :-)
