It certainly is late, but as of today, when I tried the Banner Calendar, it did have the year 2026 and had the correct dates for each month.

I have not tried the other templates.

The AI's suggestion will work for calendars in Excel, because they depend on formulas in the date squares rather than on macros.

The templates offered in Word's File > New used to rely on macros, but Microsoft removed all the macros -- but failed to update either the templates or their descriptions -- so they have become valid only for the current year. Microsoft may offer templates for 2026 sometime after New Year's Day, but there's no announced release date.

You can download a 2026 Word template from my website, https://jay-freedman.info. You can also find templates that let you choose the year at these sites:

Microsoft used to have macro-enabled templates that let you set the year or month and have the dates adjust. They have stopped offering those, perhaps because people were afraid of the macros.

If you have used a macro-enabled template from Microsoft in the past for this, it should still be on your computer in the folder you have designated as the default location for saving custom office templates.

When you use one of the templates from Microsoft, it is stored there.

As of January 4, the template noted above produces a fixed-year calendar for 2025 that would require a tremendous amount of editing. It does not have the Calendar tab nor the macros. I expect that sometime in January Microsoft will come out with 2026 calendars. This is based on experience since they discontinued the macro-enabled calendar templates.

You can use the free calendar add-in from former Word MVP Greg Maxey that you can download from here: https://gregmaxey.com/word_tip_pages/calendar_maker_addin.html

You can also find free 2026 calendars on MVP Jay Freedman's download site. (https://jay-freedman.info/)

You can find a free perpetual calendar maker add-in on MVP Graham Mayor's site.

Again, use the feedback mechanisms if you want to get the easily changed calendar templates again.

As of now, a number of templates for 2026 calendars are available including the following:

There ARE no new templates for 2026. Is microsoft no longer going to be offering templates. It is not ideal to send people to download unchecked templates off of the internet.
