Greetings, I have a windows update error in Windows Update for the update:

2025-11 net 8.0.22 update for x64 client (kb5071066)

I already tried reinstalling but I obtain alwayse error 0x80070643

Every other update is ok

Due to this .NET error I'm actually unable to use Autocad (It cannot complete its update beacuse it detect the uncomplete update: Restart is pending).

I tried downloading the full kb5071066 from:

https://www.catalog.update.microsoft.com/Search.aspx?q=.NET%208.0.22

but it's divided into several components:

Screenshot 2025-12-16 122603

What is the right one ?

Any other solution/workaround in case?

Kind Regards

Enrico Sandri

The uninstall error 0x80070652 indicates that another installation or update process is still running or pending. Restarting the system and terminating msiexec.exe processes before retrying the uninstall may resolve it.

Try uninstalling the .NET components in Safe Mode. Safe Mode prevents other services and background processes from interfering with MSI operations. Here's how:

Restart the system into Safe Mode:

Press Win + R, type msconfig, go to the Boot tab, and check Safe boot > Minimal.

      Click OK and restart.

Once in Safe Mode, try uninstalling the .NET 8.0 packages again via:

         **Apps & Features**, or

Running the original installer with the `/uninstall` flag.

After uninstalling, return to normal mode by unchecking Safe Boot in `msconfig`.

If this still doesn’t work, the next fallback is to use the Microsoft Install/Uninstall Troubleshooter to forcibly remove the corrupted packages: https://support.microsoft.com/help/17588

Great! Forcing the termination of MSIEXEC.exe I successfully uninstalled the corrupted .NET 8.0 installation and reinstalled it after reboot.

    Thanks a lot.

Shall I try using the official .NET Uninstall Tool?

    Thanks Harry for your answer.

I tried sfc /scannow, it detected and corrected some errors.

    I tried DISM too

then when I tried removing old corrupted .NET 8.0 packages from program files, I got an error, here the log.

    I have 2 installed .NET 8.0:
    Microsoft.AspNetCore.SharedFramework_x64_en_US.UTF-8,v8.0.22-servicing.25528.8, package: AspNetCoreSharedFramework_x64

    Microsoft.AspNetCore.SharedFramework_x64_en_US.UTF-8,v8.0.21-servicing.25475.15, package: AspNetCoreSharedFramework_x64

I got similar errors when I try removing them.

    Any suggestion?

    Hi Enrico Sandri

The 0x80070643 error during KB5071066 installation is commonly caused by a corrupted .NET Framework or a pending system restart that blocks update finalization. Since you're running a 64-bit system and using AutoCAD, the most relevant installers from the update catalog are likely:

dotnet-runtime-8.0.22-win-x64 – for core runtime support

aspnetcore-runtime-8.0.22-win-x64 – if AutoCAD uses web components

    dotnet-hosting-8.0.22-win-x64 – for server-side hosting scenarios

To resolve the issue, I recommend the following steps:

Restart your system to clear any pending update flags.

Run sfc /scannow and DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth to repair system files.

Uninstall any existing .NET 8.0 installations via “Apps & Features.”

Reinstall the appropriate components manually from the catalog.

If the error persists, check the Windows Event Viewer under “Setup” logs for more specific failure details.

If this helps resolve the issue, please hit “Accept Answer” so others can benefit from the solution 🙂.

    Harry.
