Hello Support Team,

I recently purchased a new mobile phone, and since then I am unable to sign in to my OneDrive account on the new device.

The same account was working properly on my old phone, but after switching to the new phone, the OneDrive app does not allow me to sign in. I have verified that I am using the correct email address and password.

Please assist me in resolving this issue so I can access my OneDrive files on my new phone.

Thank you for your support.

Kind regards,

Kevin Patel

Thanks for sharing the details! Try to approve a Security Prompt on Another Device

When you sign in on a new phone, Microsoft often silently waits for approval on an existing trusted device.

    What to do

Try signing in again on the new phone

    Check:

    Your old phone

      Your PC

         Your email inbox

Look for a “Was this you?” or “Approve sign-in” prompt and approve it

This step often blocks sign-in without showing an error.

See if this helps. If you need further assistance just let me know.

    Best regards,

    Kimberly

I am a bit desesperate here. Lost my access to onedrive 3 days ago and I have all my critical documents in there. There is no way I am able to get a code via SMS or email. The authenticator keeps getting into a loop asking itself for a code. As I changed iphone recently, I lost access to authenticator. Can anyone help? Thank YOU. This is a business account. It keeps asking to get in contact with the admin, but I am the admin without access!

You must trigger a security reset, not just retry login.

    Do this exactly:

    • Go to Microsoft account sign-in in a web browser (not the app)
    • Sign in until it asks for verification
    • Choose “I don’t have access to these”
    • Select Account Recovery
    • Complete the recovery form (this is critical)

Microsoft usually restores access within 24–48 hours

It sounds like you might be encountering an issue related to your OneDrive account after switching to a new phone. One common reason for this could be a problem with your account settings or credentials. Here are a few things you can check:

    1. Account Verification: Ensure that your account is still active and that there are no issues with your subscription or license that might prevent access.
    2. Credential Mismatch: Double-check that you are entering the correct email address and password. Sometimes, saved passwords can be incorrect or outdated.
    3. App Permissions: Make sure that the OneDrive app has the necessary permissions on your new phone to access the internet and your account.
    4. Network Connection: Verify that your new phone is connected to the internet and that there are no network issues.
    5. Cached Data: If you have previously logged into OneDrive on this device, try clearing the app's cache or reinstalling the app to remove any potentially corrupted data.

If you continue to experience issues, you may want to consult your IT department or refer to the troubleshooting guides provided by Microsoft for specific error codes if any appear during your sign-in attempts.
