    Hi Larry,

Thank you for posting, Please follow this steps to delete a blank page.

Press Ctrl+Shift+8 to show paragraph marks.

    Select the paragraph mark.

Select inside the Font size box, type 01, and then press Enter. The paragraph now fits on the preceding page, removing the unwanted blank page.

Press Ctrl+Shift+8 again to hide the paragraph marks.

If that paragraph still doesn't fit on the preceding page, you can make the bottom margin smaller (Layout tab > Margins > Custom Margins, and set the bottom margin to something small, like 0.3 inches).

What I discovered from one of the many suggestions I found both here and other places is that a lot of my problems as a writer of long manuscripts stem from the fact that Microsoft Word is not a page-based word processor but instead uses section breaks, page breaks, etc. These are not things I use or want to use. Using someone's suggestion and my own fiddling around I found what works for me. To delete a numbered blank page or a page with text, I click on that page, press Ctrl + G, in page number block type \page, press Enter, right click the selected page, and press Cut. Page gone. The page numbers correct themselves.

There are multiple things that can create a blank page.

Please see Suzanne Barnhill's excellent page that shows how to deal with all of them.

You may have to paste the URL into your browser.http://wordfaqs.ssbarnhill.com/BlankPage.htm

To delete a blank page in a Word document, you can follow these steps:

    1. Navigate to the Blank Page: Use the scroll bar or the arrow keys to go to the blank page you want to delete.
    2. Select the Blank Page: Click at the beginning of the blank page. If there are any paragraph marks (¶) or spaces, you might need to delete them first. You can enable paragraph marks by clicking on the "¶" icon in the toolbar to see hidden formatting marks.
    3. Delete the Page: Press the Backspace key if you are at the beginning of the blank page or the Delete key if you are at the end of the previous page. This should remove the blank page.

If the blank page is caused by a page break or section break, you may need to delete those breaks as well. To do this:

    • Go to the "Home" tab, click on "Show/Hide ¶" to see the breaks.
    • Click on the break and press Delete.

For pages with text, you can use similar steps to select the text and delete it, or you can use the Delete method in VBA if you are automating the process.
